Exterior Polish & 5-Year Ceramic Coating (11-Step Service)

This service includes a full exterior detail, surface refinement, and application of Glidecoat Alpha Graphene 5-Year Ceramic Coating for unbeatable durability, gloss, and ease of maintenance. It also includes a basic interior vacuum, wipe-down, and glass cleaning to deliver a complete, inside-out refresh.

Glidecoat Alpha Graphene 5-Year Ceramic Coating forms a permanent bond with your vehicle’s clear coat, delivering years of protection against UV damage, chemical fallout, and environmental wear. It repels water, resists staining, and dramatically reduces how often you need to wash your vehicle. Properly applied and maintained with annual touch-ups, this coating can keep your paint looking freshly detailed for up to five years.

Step 1: We begin with a full exterior rinse using Griot’s Garage Foaming Surface Wash applied through a foam cannon. The soap is allowed to dwell and soften grime before any contact is made.

Step 2: We agitate the surface by hand using soft microfiber wash mitts and Griot’s Garage Brilliant Finish Car Wash in a two-bucket system, cleaning from the roof down. Wheels and wheel wells are cleaned using Griot’s Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner. We scrub wheel faces with the Griot’s Garage Microfiber Wheel Wash Mitts, reach into barrels with the Griot’s Garage Microfiber Wheel Wand & EZ Detail Wands, and clean inner fender liners using the Griot’s Garage Long EZ Detail Wand. The vehicle is then rinsed thoroughly.

Step 3: We perform a full-body decontamination using the Griot’s Garage Fine Surface Prep Mitt lubricated with Brilliant Finish Car Wash. This removes bonded contaminants such as overspray, industrial fallout, or hard water deposits. Once complete, the entire vehicle is rinsed thoroughly to remove loosened debris and soap residue.

Step 4: Once the surface is decontaminated and fully dried, we machine polish the paint using Griot’s Garage Correcting Cream and an Orange BOSS Correcting Pad on a Griot’s Garage Random Orbital Polisher. This removes minor swirls, oxidation, and haze.

Step 5: We refine the paint using Griot’s Garage Perfecting Cream on a Yellow BOSS Perfecting Pad to enhance clarity and gloss.

Step 6: We strip polishing oils using Glidecoat Surface Wipe to ensure proper ceramic bonding. We spray the panel generously, then wipe thoroughly with a clean microfiber towel. Immediately after, we dry buff the area using a second towel to remove all residue. We inspect under proper lighting and repeat if any streaks or slickness remain. This leaves the surface surgically clean and ready for ceramic application.

Step 7: We apply Glidecoat Marine Ceramic Coating by hand using soft microfiber applicator pads. We work in small, overlapping sections, no larger than 3 ft by 3 ft.

We apply a quarter-sized drop of coating onto the center of the applicator pad and spread it evenly using a cross-hatch pattern (up/down, then side-to-side) until the section has a uniform wet sheen.

Immediately after applying, we buff the section with a clean microfiber towel using light-to-medium pressure to level the coating and work it into the surface. We follow with a second fresh microfiber towel to remove any excess and eliminate streaks or high spots.

We do not wait for flashing or haze, and we do not buff like wax, we level, removing only the excess while leaving the bonded coating behind.

This process is repeated, one section at a time, with slight overlaps to ensure full coverage. A second coat may be applied after 1 hour. The surface must remain dry and untouched for 24 hours to cure fully.

Important:

·         Always follow Glidecoat’s temperature guidelines: apply only between 50°F and 85°F in a dry, shaded environment.

·         Do not apply in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces.

·         Use fresh applicator pads and towels, do not reuse between sections.

·         Let coating cure 24 hours before exposing to water.

Step 8: We clean all exterior glass using Griot’s Garage Ultra-Premium Glass Cleaner for a streak-free finish.

Step 9: Tires are dressed using Griot’s Garage Black Shine Tire Spray to complete the vehicle’s exterior presentation.

Step 10: Inside the vehicle, we remove all floor mats and vacuum them thoroughly. Rubber mats are scrubbed with Griot’s Garage Interior Cleaner and a soft brush, then wiped clean. Carpet mats are vacuumed. We also vacuum all carpeted areas, seats, and compartments, including under the seats and between seams.

Step 11: All dash, console, door panels, and trim are wiped down using Griot’s Garage Interior Cleaner and microfiber towels, removing dust, fingerprints, and light grime. Interior windows are cleaned using Griot’s Garage Ultra-Premium Glass Cleaner to complete the service.
