Shop Assistant Manager

Next Jump Outfitters is looking for a Senior Manager in Tacoma, WA. The Manager will work at NJO’s headquarters, bringing an immediate, positive impact to the store and installation center. We do this Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

What You’ll Do

· Work directly with the Founders, J. Scott & Colleen Scott, & do whatever it takes
to grow the business past start up mode.

· As the business grows, hire, lead, assist, supervise, and coach the store’s install technician team.

· Inputs, schedules, and complete install orders while documenting the process and procedures for future install technicians.

· Assist with upfitting trucks, trailers, and boats for extreme adventure (including install flat beds, lift kits, truck boxes and campers) if installer is not available.

· Maintains shop and website inventory and product catalogue.

· Makes and manages purchases to fulfill orders and inventory, keep customers informed of their order status.

· Makes a meaningful contribution to the teams weekly leadership meetings, daily marketing stand-up, and publishes a daily status report so the remote team can work
autonomously.

· Assists customers with product inquiries and sales.

· Meets weekly sales & productivity objectives.

· Pitches monthly sales promotions.

· Maintains store cleanliness and order.

· Follows company policies and procedures.

· Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.

· Represent Next Jump Outfitters at Conferences and Outdoor Expo’s all over the U.S.
(including weekends).

· Lead overland expeditions (Including weekends).

What You’ll Bring

· 2+ years of Shop Manager experience in automotive or like industry.

· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a rapid pace environment.

· General trades techniques, materials and practices of trades that are related to automotive and mechanical repair work.

· Accuracy and attention to detail

· Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.

· Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.

· Ability to speak effectively to both employees and Customers.

· Commitment to providing Customer service that makes our customers want to shop with us again.

· Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.

· Consumer sales experience in a retail environment.

· Valid Washington driver’s license, and reliable vehicle that can be used to tow and haul inventory.

· Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

· Love camping and the outdoors, exude a desire to live Jump Life.

· Frequent lifting of weight between 35-75 pounds; frequent bending, twisting, kneeling and continuous squatting, reaching, walking, and standing.

Off-Road Technician

We are seeking an Off-Road Install Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for off-road vehicles, an in-depth understanding of vehicle mechanics, experience with lifts, suspensions and truck modifications. Technician must have their own tools.

Welding experience not required but would be beneficial to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, test and troubleshoot a wide range of off-road vehicle and marine modifications, including suspension upgrades, body armor, custom racks and more.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship.
  • Conduct customer build consultations, spec out builds, and provide quotes.
  • Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and support in technical procedures and safety protocols.
  • Help where needed across departments
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Conduct thorough quality control inspections to ensure all work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to provide technical support and ensure customer satisfaction with final products.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and technologies in off-road vehicle customization and welding.

What you bring:

  • Technician must have their own tools.
  • Must have proven experience as an automotive technician: lifts, suspensions, modifications.
  • Strong understanding of off-road vehicle mechanics and modifications.
  • Welding experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Commitment to safety standards and protocols.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various physical conditions.
  • Reliable vehicle, clean WA driving record and WA drivers license.

Off Road Shop Attendant

If you love the outdoors, the Overland Scene, and possess a keen eye for detail, we invite you to apply for this position. The position is full time, but we are open to a part time schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform meticulous vehicle and boat cleaning, including washing, waxing, and polishing to remove dirt, mud, and debris. Training provided.
  • Clean and maintain off-road vehicle accessories, such as roof racks, winches, and protective armor.
  • Assist shop technicians with install prep and installations
  • Ensure vehicles are parked in designated areas and arranged according to the shop's standards.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including vehicle pre-work inspection, such as checking tire pressure, adding windshield washer fluid.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure the lot is clean and organized. Perform lot maintenance and improvements as needed.
  • Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out processes, documenting mileage, fuel levels, and any damages.
  • Move vehicles to and from the service area, and ensure they are ready for customer pick-up.
  • Coordinate with service advisors and technicians to manage vehicle flow based on repair schedules.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the building and shop facilities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and maintenance of cleaning supplies, weather gear and equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including greeting customers and answering basic inquiries.
  • Ensure security procedures are followed to prevent unauthorized access to vehicles.
  • Order, deliver, pick up parts, transfer vehicles as directed by shop General Manager
  • May cross train to perform other duties (driving forklifts, etc.)
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by General Manager

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in vehicle cleaning, preferably with off-road vehicles or boats.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality cleaning results.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform cleaning tasks that may involve bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • A reliable vehicle, valid WA driver’s license and clean driving record.
